Vettah

It was thrilling and nice story telling movie. The promotion on how it is a mind-game movie is really apt.
I hadn't heard of the movie till it released. Still I was not interested in watching as all the publicity was on how Manju was playing a police officer. But on the demise note of the director #RajeshPillai only did I know that this film was from him, who had directed Traffic. The day I heard that it is a mind-game thriller, I fixed on watching it and went for the show next day as I didn't want any spoilers.

I felt good I did that and I believe that #Chackochan (Kunchacko Boban) has given a really good performance in this movie, but I feel justice is not done to him as the promotion of the movie was more on Manju playing the cop. She has performed well but not as much as the hype that is being built around her. I felt she and Indrajit were on the same page of performance and role-wise too. She has had outstanding performance in her early years, but this is not in the same league. Here I felt Chackochan has played a real intense character way out of his league but is being so underrated. People are banking movies so much on her comeback and it was just creating an unwanted hype to all her recent movies. I feel too much promotion is going for her and it is affecting the movie. I wouldn't have gone for this movie if I hadn't know it was a Rajesh Pillai's thriller film. Overall It is a nice thrilling movie with lot of twists and turns. Worth watching it. Nice performance by all characters. Rajesh Pillai's sudden death is a loss for all. RIP.

Dilwale Review

Saw ‪#‎Dilwale‬ - First Day Possible Show
I am a big die-hard fan of ‪#‎ShahRukhKhan‬ that even when others criticized about some of your flop movies, I liked it and defended it. But this was unbearable. As a fan, I feel its my duty to inform. Anyone who knows me would know how much of and ‪#‎SRK‬ fan I am. I always try and go for the First Day First Show and worst case, I will somehow watch it on first day. I go alone for the first time leaving my family home, so that I do not want to be disturbed for a bit and I try and watch it from normal theater for the energy from the audience and not a dead crowd of the multiplexes. And next day I take my family to the multiplex for the show. This film came with a lot of expectation and I had a fear whether you will be able to maintain it. I was a bit let down on the first song release itself and had commented that time that this not the kind of song expected from an ‪#‎SRK_Kajol‬ jodi. Since I couldn't watch the FDFS, I went for the evening show, disconnecting from all social media reviews, so that I don't go in with a preconceived notion of the movie. But when the film started, it had the familiarity of 'Hum' storyline with some small changes and not as good. Kajol is a real beauty, but she was so overdone with makeup that it was leaking from her face. When SRK & Kajol was together, there were some sparks of energising the film, but the script was so bad that there was no room for that. That spark disappears in the next frame. Rohit Shetty is not capable of directing a Jodi like SRK & Kajol. What Adithya Chopra, Karan Johar, Abbas-Mastan & Rakesh Roshan got from this pair was something else. Rohit Shetty's film usually has comedy and action, but this film had nothing laughable though it had a nice potential team. This film tried to mix action, comedy, family values, romance but fell on all grounds. It should have focused on one or two elements. If it was any other actor other than SRK-Kajol, I would have walked out of the theater half-way. It is that bad. It was depressing. I didn't feel like laughing at the 'comic scenes', nor thrilled at the action scenes and romance scenes was a pure buffoonery act. I feel so bad writing like this about am SRK movie. But I am saving the plight of my friends and relatives and whomever I can from watching this stitched up errors.
